I can definitely see why this place is so well known! They don't have the biggest menu, but I love how customizable each dish is: you can choose to get each noodle dish as is or as a soup! And I appreciate them blasting the A/C in their establishment. It seems like a lot and quite cold when you first go in. But when you're eating all the spicy food, it helps. We tried Liang Pi "Cold-skin Noodles" - while this was still good, it was my least favorite thing we ordered. I definitely prefer the texture of the hand ripped noodles. And also we thought this dish was supposed to be cold, and the noodles were definitely hot. The flavors were pretty good though. Spicy and tingly beef muscle hand-ripped noodles in soup - Although quite oily, this dish was so good. The texture of the noodles were perfect, the meat was pretty tender, and it was a good amount of spice. Spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles - I think this is the dish that I always heard about whenever people talk about Xi'an Famous Foods, and it ended up being my favorite! Again, the noodles were a great texture, it was quite oily, and there was a good amount of spice. But the cumin flavor really came through and I liked the lamb a lot. It reminded me of Chinese satay skewers. The "burgers" also looked so good, will have to try that next time!

A unique, comforting experience. All food was good. I didn't get a pick of the vegetable salad. I will definitely be back again.

Ordered food via kiosk. Staffs were friendly. Items are mostly spicy. I ordered stewed pork burger which was not spicy. It was a bit disappointing since the burger was a bit hard to bit into and the burger was not cut in half. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

Xi'an has a good amount of seating inside, which is nice for a small NY restaurant. They have spicy and non spicy options -- I order the "non spicy" lamb dumplings and they still had some heat to them. Overall, the dumplings were flavorful and had a good amount of filling.

Amazing dumplings and hand pulled noodles. We stumbled upon Xian a few years ago and we loved it from day 1. The dough is soft but with a lovely chew. The lamb is delicious with the proper amount of mala. The first bite ended up all over my shirt but well worth it! Service is quick and friendly. We have visited a few locations and it ranges from full seating to a small standing countertop location. Try it you will love it!

I was so skeptical of this spot because Chinatown has so many great, cheaper spots. (Plus, I try to avoid chains). BUT XI'an Famous Foods completely blew me away! It's rare to find an indoor sit-down spot in Chinatown and their storefront is so clean. Ordering is super quick and I will never get over the spicy cucumber salad and cumin lamb noodles --out of this world good! Pro tip: dump the cucumber salad onto the noodles.

Open and spacious interior with plenty of seating to enjoy your meal. Ordering was done through a tablet and fulfilled pretty quickly. The food itself I thought was solid, but definitely will appeal to those who are able to handle spice and oil better. The flavors are very strong and look to attack the taste buds versus something more subtle. Even the mild flavor contains a little bit of spice, so caution before ordering.

Food: The noodle dishes here are consistently good. My favorite is the dry (no soup) noodles with lamb. The noodle texture is chewy, bouncy, and very fresh. The "zha jiang" noodles are also very tasty. It has a similar flavor profile to the spicy noodles with lamb, but they use ground pork instead. Spice level is customizable for the noodle dishes. One thing I wouldn't recommend is their dumplings. I've tried it twice (lamb the first time and pork the second time), and it was disappointing both times. The dumpling skin is very thick and the filling isn't very good. The dumplings also weren't hot. I would stick to their noodle dishes when you come here. Service: Staff are friendly but you only interact with them when you order and pick up your food. The place is self-service. Napkins, utensils, and condiments are set out for you to take by yourself. Ambiance: There are many tables for you to sit down and eat once you have picked up your food. They have tables for larger groups up to six people. This is a very casual spot and meant for a quick meal rather than a place to linger and hang out for a long time. Overall, I would highly recommend this place (for their noodles).

Simply the best. Delightful flavor in noodles that were perfectly cooked. If you are in the are, you should try this.

Had to stop by Xian since it has been featured on the food network and visited by Andrew, Anthony, and Adam. They have many locations across the city. As much as I wanted to order multiple dishes I only had room for one. After looking at their menu prior to my visit,I decided to get the pork noodles. This was a little to oily for my liking, but the wide noodles were perfect for soaking up the sauce and meat. The pull noodles are made fresh daily.
